Explore Your World!

Ambassador's Corner yellow banner.

Summer is here, and what a great time it is to wonder, observe and explore! I enjoy exploring outdoor spaces with my two young children.

The Cat in the Hat is a world-class explorer, too! The Cat in the Hat, together with friends Sally and Nick, take on big questions and find answers.

Simple outings can be opportunities for preschoolers to learn. Next time you’re outside, encourage kids to look up at the sky. Start a conversation by asking, “What do you see?” All observations are opportunities to explore topics such as weather, cloud formations, birds and flying insects. Finally, have kids record their observations through art. Drawing, coloring, painting, collage or photography are great ways to create memories of fun outdoor playtime.

Take your exploration a step further using ready-to-go nature activities such as this fun PBS KIDS birdwatching activity. You can even learn how to make your own bagel bird feeder
