PBS North Carolina Brings Home Three Emmy® Awards From 35th Midsouth Regional Emmys

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, 3/16/2021 — PBS North Carolina was awarded three Emmy® Awards at the 35th Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards ceremony, held virtually this year, on February 27.

“I want to thank everyone here at PBS North Carolina for your support this past year,” said Director of Local Content and Programming Galen Black. “The team works tirelessly traveling the state and serving its citizens with stories about their neighbors and themselves. I couldn’t be prouder of this group of creators for their unwavering dedication to their craft.” Black was also part of the team that won the Emmy for best Informational/Instructional Series—the series’ third win in this category.

The Nashville/Midsouth Region, founded in 1984, encompasses the States of North Carolina (except Asheville) and Tennessee, and the television market of Huntsville, Alabama. In addition to granting the Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards, the chapter awards scholarships, honors quarter-century industry veterans with the Silver Circle, conducts Regional Student Television Awards of Excellence for high schools, has a free, nationwide job bank that provides member discounts and participates in judging Emmy entries at the regional and national levels.
