PBS North Carolina Premieres Weekly State Legislative Affairs Program 'State Lines'

PBS NORTH CAROLINA PREMIERES WEEKLY STATE LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS PROGRAM 

 ‘State Lines’ debuts January 13 as part of the network’s public affairs programming block on Friday nights.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, 1/13/2023 — PBS North Carolina announces the launch of its new weekly legislative affairs series, State Lines, on Friday, January 13. The roundtable program focuses on North Carolina policy, legislation and their impact on North Carolinians. State Lines will air Fridays from 8:30 to 9 PM on the network’s flagship broadcast channel, PBS NC, as part of its Friday night public affairs programming block. 

State Lines will bring context to complex issues facing North Carolinians and provide an open forum for meaningful discussion between experienced political analysts, journalists and elected officials from across the state and political spectrum.  

The premiere follows Wednesday’s commencement of the new North Carolina General Assembly. The debut conversation will focus on learnings and takeaways from the General Assembly’s opening session, and includes host Kelly McCullen, Director of North Carolina Channel and Original Productions of PBS North Carolina, panelists Donna King of the Carolina Journal, Representative Brandon Lofton (Mecklenburg County) and Dawn Vaughan of the News & Observer.  

Viewers will see a rotation of participants in the coming months as the station continues to develop its roster of moderators and guests.
