Chief Inspector Maigret (Benjamin Wainwright, as featured in Belgravia: The Next Chapter, Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim), and his team of maverick but loyal detectives, Les Maigrets, solve a series of complex crimes in Paris. Maigret’s unconventional methods and unique sense of justice put him at odds with his superiors and the judicial system he is supposed to represent. Maigret must outwit some of Paris’s most cunning and violent criminals, while dealing with his own troubled past. Emmy nominee Patrick Harbinson (Homeland, 24) is the lead writer and executive producer.

The Gold is inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery that took place in London and stars Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!), Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey), Charlotte Spencer (Sanditon) and Emun Elliott (Guilt). In 1983, armed men broke into the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow Airport and inadvertently stumbled across gold bullion worth £26m. What started as a typical armed robbery, became the biggest theft in world history at the time.
