An Important Update to PBS NC Passport

PBS NC Passport has grown into one of public media’s most beloved member benefits, a multiplatform streaming service with over 6,000 hours of programming, including the dramas you love most. PBS has invested heavily in digital infrastructure and digital streaming rights for popular programs so you can watch on your schedule on any device.

PBS North Carolina has also made significant investments in local content that audiences across our state treasure. Your support makes that possible.

Beginning July 1, the minimum donation for PBS NC Passport access will change to $8 per month or $96 per year.

We do not make this change lightly. However, the recent loss of federal funding for public media has made it necessary. To ensure uninterrupted access, members giving less than $8 per month or $96 per year should increase their gifts by June 30.

During that time, PBS has invested heavily in digital infrastructure and digital streaming rights for popular programs as more audiences have moved online. PBS North Carolina has also made significant investments in expanding our digital programming.

To ensure uninterrupted access to PBS NC Passport, you should increase your level of giving to $8 per month/$96 per year or more by June 30. We appreciate your continued support.

Can I stream programs on the PBS app if I give less than $8 per month/$96 per year?

Members and nonmembers can stream many PBS programs for free on the PBS app. PBS NC Passport will remain an enhanced streaming experience for those who give at least $8 per month/$96 per year.
