Assistant Director of Fundraising Technology

PBS NC is actively seeking an Assistant Director of Fundraising Technology to provide technology expertise to support and assist the fundraising functions at PBS North Carolina. This role provides leadership and direction for the donor database, completing migration to new CRM (Tessitura), API development, data processing, and onboarding of new opportunities to use technology across departments, including sponsorship, major gifts, grants, marketing, and content. Key responsibilities include overseeing data integrity, developing data architecture, composing processes, and improving flow and efficiencies to ensure accuracy and compliance. Additionally, the director will lead efforts to bring new technology to support digital growth, segmenting and marketing automation, and new revenue opportunities. The assistant director is a vital management team member that will be required to display strong leadership skills with a variety of internal and external partners and will be responsible for identifying cutting edge technologies to improve system performance and communications with our members to drive support for the organization.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience which includes management, or an equivalent combination of experience/education. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Copy Editor/Copywriter

PBS NC is looking for a full-time, self-motivated, multitasking Copy Editor/Copywriter in the RTP area. This position is temporarily remote; however, the Copy Editor/Copywriter must live in NC and within a commutable distance to the office as on-site work 2-3 days a week will soon be required. The primary purpose of this position is to act as the voice of the PBS North Carolina brand. Through copywriting and collateral, this position generates overall brand awareness, promotes programming and supports numerous fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for the development of strategic messaging and support materials for advertising and fundraising, writing and editing copy for the monthly program guide, other publications, and preparing copy and related content for distribution across PBS North Carolina’s channels including website, email, and press releases, among others. This role requires ideation and creating of advertising platforms and campaigns as well as writing of attention-grabbing advertising headlines. This position requires the ability to work with a great deal of independence, exercising sound judgment, and operating with a high level of understanding of organizational mission, goals, and strategies. Responsibilities include copy editing/formatting monthly periodical. Copy editing/revising emails, copy, press releases, scripts, speeches and white papers. Ideation of strategic platform statements and attention-grabbing headlines for advertising and fundraising campaigns. Writing of scripts, press releases, speeches, and ad copy. Upholding and expanding internal style guide, and reinforcing ongoing rebrand.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.  All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Western Broadcast Transmitter Technician

PBS North Carolina is actively seeking a Broadcast Transmitter Technician based in the Western North Carolina region. The Broadcast Transmitter Technician is responsible for the overall monitoring and maintenance of the PBS NC statewide DTV broadcast translator system following federal, state, and organizational directives and regulations. Regular activities include field strength measurements, routine and out of hours emergency site attendance for repair, preventive maintenance, equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades. Additionally, the Broadcast Transmitter Technician is involved in maintenance of the PBS NC microwave radio system; maintenance of high power television broadcast transmitters; maintenance of remote control systems; participates in rotating schedule of statewide 24-hour remote systems monitoring as operator and first point of contact; design of broadcast station transmission systems; planning, coordination and involvement in transmission projects within the organization and with outside vendors providing services to PBS NC; interaction with the public, PBS NC colleagues, and operators and occupants at shared facilities.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency and completion of a two-year technical school program in electronics; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
