Chief Education & Innovation Officer

PBS North Carolina invites applications for the Chief Education and Innovation Officer (CEIO) position. The CEIO builds, inspires and manages PBS North Carolina’s new Education Division. Leading an interdisciplinary team centered on education equity and excellence, the CEIO couples public media’s power to serve the entire continuum of life-long learning with engaging, multi-platform content for three primary purposes:

• to provide wholesome and compelling educational experiences that bridge economic and digital divides to enrich the lives of children, families, educators and communities across North Carolina;

• to develop new audience, revenue and partnership opportunities for PBS North Carolina; and

• to deliver tangible outcomes that bolster PBS North Carolina’s local and national reputation as a visionary and sustainable public media leader.

Reporting to the CEO, the CEIO partners closely with the senior leadership team to transform PBS North Carolina's impact and reach by enabling the next generation of educational and digital services. They will be a thought leader who cultivates relationships for the benefit of PBS North Carolina and provides strategic vision and leadership to teams within the Education Division, as well as the organization as a whole. Building upon PBS North Carolina’s tradition of education and programming excellence, the CEIO fosters an entrepreneurial environment that promotes audience-centered thinking, experimentation, data-informed decision making and operational excellence.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of experience in a senior leadership role with an in-depth understanding of technology, media production and distribution, and policy issues; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Director of Finance and Administration

PBS North Carolina invites applications for the Director of Finance and Administration position at its headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. This leadership position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, is a member of the senior executive team, and is responsible for the effective administration and financial support of all divisions of PBS North Carolina. This position has the authority and responsibility for implementing PBS North Carolina’s budgetary long-range strategic plan objectives, and for providing leadership and direction to employees and senior leadership. This position exercises substantial independent decision making, with regard to management and allocation of resources. The Director of Finance and Administration provides principal leadership in identifying financial strategies and an efficient administrative structure to enable PBS North Carolina to utilize resources wisely.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience/education. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
