PBS NORTH CAROLINA ANNOUNCES NEW SEASON OF ‘SIDE BY SIDE WITH NIDO QUBEIN’
Industry leaders—including Coach Roy Williams, Chef Vivian Howard and Netflix Cofounder Marc Randolph—discuss their personal journeys with Dr. Nido Qubein.
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, 10/3/2022 — PBS North Carolina announces season two of its original series Side by Side with Nido Qubein. Each week, Dr. Qubein sits down with an influential leader from the world of culture, politics, business and technology in an engaging conversation about innovation and resilience. The new season premieres Tuesday, October 4, at 7 PM, on PBS NC and the PBS Video App with a one-on-one with legendary college basketball coach Roy Williams. Other guests this season include ESPN anchor Sage Steele, Netflix cofounder Marc Randolph, Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan, chef and TV personality Vivian Howard, Simply Southern founder Ginger Aydogdu, STEM educator Steve Spangler and KIND founder and executive Daniel Lubetzky.
In addition to serving as president of High Point University (HPU), Dr. Qubein is a successful author and sought-after professional speaker. As host of HPU’s Access to Innovators series, he interviewed such notable guests as Secretaries of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice and General Colin Powell, Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak, writer Malcolm Gladwell and veteran newscaster Tom Brokaw. In season 1 of Side by Sidewith Nido Qubein, Dr.Qubein conversed with a variety of leaders, including consultant and philanthropist Dr. Robert Brown, ABC News anchor Byron Pitts, US Army Captain Charlie Plumb and Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall.

About the Host
Nido Qubein immigrated to the United States from the Middle East as a teenager in search of a college education. He supported himself through college, attending Mount Olive College, then High Point University to receive his bachelor’s degree and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for graduate studies. His entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic led him to a variety of business ventures and leadership positions with Truist Financial Corporation, La-Z Boy Corporation, Great Harvest Bread Company and nThrive. He has served on the board of several national organizations and, since 2005, as the president of High Point University. Dr. Qubein is the recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and the Daughters of the American Revolution Americanism Award and was inducted into the Horatio Alger Association for Distinguished Americans.
